Need For Trees 3D

Need For Trees 3D is the new sister game of the original Need For Trees game! This game is an endless runner developed for IOS and Android in the Unity Engine. Players are tasked with traversing through an infinite procedurally generated map. Full of hazards and vibrant environments. As you progress the environment transforms from a dead struggling forest to a lush forest full of life! We designed this to represent what the player is achieving by playing our game! As you play the game and reach milestones we plant trees IN REAL LIFE! The previous game has already planted over 1000 trees in Alberta, Canada. This time we hope to plant thousands more! This game was made under my studio C2 Games, with a team of 4; One programmer, one artist, one tech-artist, and an audio engineer.

Key Features

Shop

There are several different vehicle themes players can buy or unlock. These themes represent real world trees. We wanted to remind players of how beautiful our worlds natural foliage is and to encourage them to keep playing our game!

Inventory

The inventory is the sister menu to the shop. It reflects all the players progress by showing you all the items you have unlocked!

Leaderboards

Players are tasked with surviving as long as possible. The longer you drive the more score you will earn. You can compare scores with other players in the leaderboards!

Dynamic Main Menu Scenes

Tree Planting

Once you collect ten tree pickups during gameplay, you are eligible to plant a tree! Players can track how many trees they have planted by the UI and also by building a mini forest in the main menu. Every time you plant one of these trees we will plant a tree in real life! This lets players track how much of an impact they have made to our planet!

Gameplay

We used a shader to curve our world. This helps keep players on their toes as they have to make split second decisions to avoid incoming obstacles. Also it looks great! The world

Our world is procedurally generated. I created robust and optimized code to build the world as the game progresses.

There are four powerups in the game; Rocket, Coin Magnet, Shield, and Invincibility !
